Update 12/22/25: pending trade
Up for trade is our registered full-blood 5 1/2 year old bull.
We have had our bull “Chief” for almost two years now. He bred all of our cows and has now back-bred them again and it is time for us to get a new bull. We are the third farm/ranch to use this bull for breeding – he’s had a perfect track record and has bred every cow that he was exposed to. I am attaching an image of his ancestry and also the last page of his progeny (note: the first two ranches did not record his sired steers – I figure that he’s had about 25 offspring on the small farm/ranches that he’s lived on).
We are looking for a bull trade – we need another bull, proven, similar age and characteristics. I’m willing to travel to accomplish this. We’re in SW Missouri – I drove to Georgia when we bought this bull so if you’re far away, don’t be discouraged to contact us.
All of the calves we’ve had have been unassisted and are all healthy. Since we’ve owned Chief he’s had access to water, a mineral block, and whatever grass we have in our pastures. We’ve only been improving our pastures for about 3 years (from 20 years of disuse and abuse) – our pastures aren’t super strong yet and have a lot of weeds – in nearly 2 years, Chief hasn’t lost a pound – he eats like a goat and thrives. During winter months we put out hay bales and mineral.
Chief is hot wire trained and is rotated daily. He is very docile – if you approach him he will run away. We’ve never seen any form of aggression from him but he still maintains the herd – I regularly see him moving he cows around in the field and occasionally he sequesters the herd in the corner of a paddock when he feels like he needs to exert his bull masculinity.
Please feel free to contact me by phone or SMS – I’ll be happy to answer any of your questions.
