About Us
South Poll Grass Cattle Association

Welcome to the South Poll Grass Cattle Association (SPGCA)! Established in 2008, we are a nonprofit organization committed to advancing South Poll cattle and supporting their dedicated producers. Our mission is to promote this gentle, heat-tolerant maternal breed, ensuring efficient grass-to-beef conversion.
Our Services
As the official voice for South Poll breeders, the SPGCA provides valuable services to our members:
- Cattle Registration: We facilitate the registration process, ensuring accurate records and pedigrees for South Poll cattle. Registration fees are discounted for South Poll Grass Cattle Association members.
- Education: Our education initiatives include podcasts, videos, the South Poll Grass Cattle Facebook Forum, and tailored breakout sessions during the annual Field Day. These cover South Poll cattle management, breeding, and sustainable grazing management practices.
- Annual National Field Day: Join us for our flagship event—an exciting gathering where breeders, enthusiasts, and industry professionals come together to celebrate South Poll cattle and deeper learning about grazing systems and animal husbandry.
Join us in championing South Polls—the future of efficient, sustainable beef production!
Mission Statement
To promote gentle South Poll Cattle as the premier heat-tolerant maternal breed for the efficient conversion of grass to tender beef.
South Polls are bred to be slick-haired, moderate-framed cows with emphasis placed on high fertility, longevity, and calm disposition. South Polls are bred to excel on a grass based grazing system. Ultrasound and actual carcass data on the South Poll tells us that they are as tender, or more tender, than straight bred English cattle.
